Brooklyn earned a degree in Movement Science from Grand Valley State and spent nine years as a personal trainer, and Personal Training Manager at Lifetime Fitness before his wife, Diana, tried CrossFit. One class changed everything, delivering the competition, community, and best use of an hour he'd ever found.
His coaching style is technical and precise, backed by credentials including a CrossFit Level 2, USAW Level 1, and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist certification. His favorite movement to coach is the squat snatch, because like great coaching itself, it rewards patience and precision over speed.
Outside the gym, Brooklyn and Diana are busy raising five kids. Few things bring him more joy than watching his children pursue their passions and getting to train alongside his three oldest, with the two youngest not far behind.
His advice to anyone just starting out is straightforward: go slow and keep showing up, because consistency is everything.
